A Word to the viewers
Hello my viewers. This little message is meant to explain to you my concentration, also known as the work you see on this page. Unfortunately, given the nature of my concentration, this is no easy task for me.
My concentration is simply excerpts taken from my journal and represented on a canvas. Of course, a picture is worth a thousand words, but those words can be horribly ambiguous unless they are given in some way. All of my pieces contain their respective excerpts, most contain the dates of the original entries, some content has been modified to fit the PG standards.
Taking entries from my journal means you get to read some of my poetry and see where my heart has found its fancy. Please remember that there are two sides to every door. Many of my entries came to life when I was taking a walk through my thoughts. I always try to avoid those dark corners but such a task is not easy. I can’t simply light a candle inside my head. That would probably hurt.
For much of my life I have felt like, in some way or another, I have not been heard. I have had mentors who subtly taught me to keep my mouth shut. They said if I felt like I had something substantial to say that I should write it down and they would read it. They were satisfied when I never wrote anything at all. Later on, I took to writing to release all of my thoughts. It became my escape and now it is everywhere in my life, even outside of school. Through much fear and debating with myself, I resolved to make my writing my concentration, and share it with you. Every sentence in each piece is a sentence I have never uttered to another person, unless I read off the passage in explaining the piece to them. Yet, even this is at fault because my lips are bound to the silence they were trained to keep.
Some part of me felt like this had to be done. I needed to send this message to the world. Another part of me just needed to release these thoughts all over again just because you perform an exorcism doesn’t mean the demons have left.
